More about the units:
ART DI/O 2 Channel 24 Bit, 96 kHz Conversion System - The DIO offers high resolution stereo 24-bit A/D-D/A conversion at selected sample rates from 44.1 to 96kHz. With external sync mode, the DIO’s intelligent synchronization allows for automatic sync with outboard equipment at sample rates from 22kHz to 100kHz. This unit can function as your interface for “classic” analog signal processing gear in a digital production environment. Perfect interface for any digital workstation or computer based recording system. With the high input impedance, the DIO can be your instrument’s direct-to-digital interface. Upgrade the A/D-D/As on your DAT machine or any older digital I/O equipment with the DIO’s high resolution converters. You can even loop thru the DIO to add “analog” warmth and musicality to an existing digital track. The tube pre-amp is on the front end, before the A/D converter, for analog gain and dynamic range control. At the clean setting, the tube circuitry is bypassed and the A/D sees a “straight wire with gain” signal. As you increase the control the signal goes from ultra clean and transparent, thru silky, to smooth, to warm, to fat. At this end the tube becomes the dominant gain element, enhancing lower and mid level signals and soft limiting peaks and overshoots before they hit the A/D.

ART Phantom II 12/48V Phantom Power (Battery or AC Adapter) - Condenser microphones usually specify different requirements for their phantom power. These ratings can range from 48 Volts all the way down to 9 Volts. Fortunately, there’s a certain amount of flexibility with matching Phantom Power voltage to your mic. A rough rule-of-thumb would be “more is better.” For example, a 24-volt condenser mic usually works perfectly with a 48 Volt Phantom Power Supply. Some mics rated at as little as 9 Volts can operate on voltages up to 48 Volts (check with the manufacturer first). Conversely, a mic will generally perform best driven by not less than its rated voltage. So, for a 48 Volt mic, you would get best performance with 48 Volts of Phantom Power. For all the above, check out the Phantom II.

ART Tube MP - The Tube MP is the world’s most popular external tube microphone preamp. Whether you’re working with a digital, computer or analog recording system, the Tube MP’s TEC award nominated design will allow you to obtain professional recording studio results at a fraction of the cost of comparable equipment. The hybrid design of the Tube MP allows it to add warmth and fatness to a signal while maintaining exceptionally low-noise and high quality. While its primary application is to be used with a microphone, the Tube MP is an exceptional direct box – impedance matching, amplifying and improving the sound of any instrument plugged into it. The usage of external mic/line preamps has become increasingly popular over the past several years. The Tube MP offers superior performance and sound quality to the “on-board” preamps found in today’s low-cost mixers and multi-trackers. It’s sound has been consistently favored over other products costing upwards to ten-times its price. Professional quality sound combined with professional features like: a hand-selected 12AX7a tube, phantom power and phase reverse are what have made the Tube MP a staple in thousands of studios worldwide. For a minimal investment, a Tube MP can provide the single largest improvement to the sound of your studio.
