Kenwood KA-880D 100 Watts RMS Per Channel Stereo Integrated Amplifier 1987-89 - Recent DALAUDIO service. We are including a copy of the service manual. This integrated has a clean, crisp, superb MOSFET sound. Very powerful amp, well built unit now functions as it should, including the "Direct Switch, Line Straight (Flat - No Tone Control). Recent Service: All pots switches and selectors, cleaned/coated lubricated properly.
This is a tough unit to service due to the way it was designed. The entire faceplate and chassis front plate have to be removed to gain access to the potentiometers and switches.
Sound: Clean, crisp, superb MOSFET sound. Very powerful amp, well built, but difficult to work on. This unit now functions as it should, including the "Direct Switch, Line Straight (Flat - No Tone Control).
Features: The amp is feature packed for this era. This unit has up to 3 monitor loops. DAT 1 in/out, and Tape 2 & 3 in /out are (monitor/EQ) loops that function for CD, Phono, Tuner. Tape/DAT Monitor and either Tape 2 or 3 input source options are available with the "Dual Rec Out" rotary switch below the speaker A/B selector switch. The AUX input is not selectable for either Dual Rec out Loop, however, the AUX and CD are available on the "Direct" switch with Tape/DAT monitor off. The direct feature overrides the preamp second stage (bass, treble, balance) and provides the input source (CD or AUX) "direct" to the amp, with only the volume stage operative.
