Vintage 1981 AKAI AA-R41 Stereo Receiver 50Watts RMS
AKAI AA-R41 Stereo Receiver 50 Watts RMS per channel - Made In Japan. Fully cleaned and tested by DALAUDIO in Westlake this month. Controls (Volume, Tone, Selectors etc.) have been cleaned and coated. Unit is in exceptional cosmetic condition with a single hard to see scratch on the upper faceplate lip. It will not show in photos. Output was measured into a 8 Ohm load and exceeded the manufactures specifications below. Phono stage is quiet. This unit has digital tuning, LED output level meters, Led indicators, Digital Tuning for AM and FM.
In the very early 1980 (this unit was 1981), digital tuning tuners and receivers were introduced by the Japanese audio manufactures. Akai offered both digital and analog tuning models in the early 1980s. The model AA-R40 had older style analog (dial) but both had identical preamp/amplifier sections.
This is one of the few units that has the ability to remove bridging posts (see photo) between the output of the preamplifier section and the amplifier section. It can be used as a preamp only, power amp, or both with bridge posts installed.
