Heathkit AA-100 Vintage Stereo Tube Amplifier - Operational
This is an excellent example of a Heathkit AA-100 in working condition with the original manual, and kit building guide. We used this as kids in the 60's and early 70's graduating to other Dynco kits in the 80's.
The AA-100 audio output is terrific from both Left and Right Channels. Sound is very rich and clear, very nice bass notes, no distortion observed. This is a 25 WPC RMS (or a Mono 50 WPC l). That kid of output was not found in most amplifiers of the time. The amp sounds superb with a nice glowing sound stage. All switched, lights, inputs, outputs work. The unit is over 50 years old, and in original condition. We have the Heathkit kit building guide and Heath Manual. We have kept the unit in working condition over the years.
Given the units age we offer no promise of longevity or warranty. That being said., we want to hook the unit up and allow the purchaser to listen and test the unit prior to purchase. One thing that is important to note: All input cables plug in to the bottom of the unit. This was done to keep the low level inputs as close to the preamp board in the chassis. This was ideal for less noise and better sound, but sort of impractical for access.
Unit is recently serviced all the controls with cleaner and Gold Deoxit. The shafts have been lubricated. A full compliment of working tubes are included, (the main tubes are still Daystrom 7591's and Sylvania 7199! The 12AX7s are RCA in preamp. I replaced the AC cord about 5 years ago, when I replaced a few resistors and caps due to age. All parts were original parts.
We are firm on the price as it is in excellent condition, currently works, and are already experiencing heartache over selling this unit.
