Sherwood S-7100A AM/FM Receiver with Original Manual & Paperwork - In excellent working and physical condition including the wood case. Please check photos. This beautiful 7100A receiver was upgraded with a new push button AC power switch by DALAUDIO. The Sherwood folks placed the On/Off AC switch on the volume control (Loudness). Returning volume to its lowest point would turn off the unit. This was typical of manufactures in the 60s and 70s , but best practices today require a separate AC Main switch. These Sherwood multi switches brake quite often due to a small plastic internal part that gets brittle with age, rendering the unit either always on, or off! A vendor sells an aftermarket replacement part, but the price is ($90 plus shipping). As a result to keep this unit affordable, a black push button switch now exists to the right of the Loudness control. A much more reliable solution in the long run. Please see photos, it will be hard to see this switch unless we pointed it out. It looks like it belongs.

Sound and Performance: We tweaked the FM alignment; it pulls in stations, and keep them locked with low noise. The full scope of the FM dial is accurate. AM is working fine. This unit has the typical sherwood full lively sound one would expect from a quality receiver of this era. The phono stage is warm and has no shortcomings pulling a rich powerful soundstage out of vinyl phono cartridge. This gem puts out about 20 Watt per channel, plenty of power for most bookshelf speakers from that era or 8 Ohm 89-90 db efficient modern speakers.
